Stripes and Spots

Haven't I mentioned how much I like to mix patterns together? I believe I have...so it's no wonder I would pair spots with stripes. I don't really have many rules with pattern mixing except if one accessary is really bright and powerful, I go easy with the rest of the outfit. I don't like to have too many stand out pieces in one outfit. Here I wore the black boots and earrings to make the scarf feel a little more in place.=) I think the wow factor in this outfit is the booties which I'm in love with! I also got the cognac colored ones.

*Sidenote - I'm noticing how much I should be making my bed before taking these! Truth be told, I take all my pictures really early in the morning right after I get ready. My kids are usually still sleeping and in my bed.=)

The scarf is super light weight which I appreciate because of Okinawa's mild climate.
The shirt I'm wearing is so comfortable and a little roomy which I really appreciate when I'm wearing skinny jeans.
My little cutie and I were stuck in some traffic so we snapped this shot of us. My little guy's back there somewhere!

Smarty Pants

I'm linking up with The Stylish Housewife for her Weekly Fashion Linkup.

Today I broke out my huge "Clark Kent" glasses for the first time. I balanced them out with a really fun, feminine color combination: Light pink, white, and cognac. And since I'm never a fan of matching too much, I added a statement necklace in turquoise.

I can't say enough about this long statement necklace. When it's too hot to throw on a jean jacket to look more put together, I love reaching for a nice necklace. It was the only necklace I packed on my last trip, and I was so glad I had it. It really worked with just about all my outfits.

Casual Vibe

Today, I'm linking up with The Pleated Poppy for her What I Wore Wednesday.

This little outfit I wore to work just screamed "casual, but still put together" to me. I love that combination since I never want to be too dressed up for work being a kindergarten teacher and all. It gets pretty messy in our room.=) Since everything was very fitted from head to toe, I added the jean jacket to balance things out. Is it just me or does a nice cropped jacket make everything look a little more put together? I have Shaeffer from Pinterest Told Me To to thank for the jacket. Do you guys read her blog? I love it! She always finds such great stuff, and her sense of humor really makes her blog a joy to read.
This outfit could have worked just as well with white, khaki, dark brown, or even colored pants or shorts. I've worn this same outfit with coral shorts and loved it. I really love navy and coral together.

This Michael Kors bag is such a staple for me. I own the lighter toned one too, and it's my go to bag in the summer.

Floral and Stripes

One of my favorite things to do is mix different patterns with each other. Currently I'm loving stripes and florals which works out great because  I own several floral scarves and striped tops and dresses. The scarves really turn a plain top into something more special.

Yellow, Nude, and Denim

I loved this outfit more than I thought I would. I rarely wear yellow tops (just jewelry), so this shirt has been hanging in my closet untouched for awhile. It's a great shirt for being out and about with the kids. It the perfect amount of "roominess," it washes well, and it's the perfect sleeve length for spring (whenever I'm wearing short shorts I like to cover up more on top to compensate). That being said, it obviously needed to be paired with things that would spice it up. A big watch, pretty matching studs, and subtle necklace and bracelets was the perfect amount. I love these denim cut offs and my go-to summer purse (I own the same one in brown that I use a lot in the winter).

I've really been loving the NARS matte lipstick that I mentioned earlier. It stays on all day. Really!

Pretty earrings.

I saved my favorite for last. These gladiator sandals! I'm a big fan of nude shoes (heels, wedges, flats, flip flops) because they work with everything. These have silver studs which works so well with my watch and pulls the whole look together. They're also very comfortable!

Spring Break Casual

Today, I'm linking up with The Pleated Poppy for her "What I Wore Wednesday."

We've been on Spring Break this week, so I've been out and about a lot with the kids. One of their favorite things to do is go to the zoo and museum (all right next to each other). I pulled out my casual clothes and comfy sandals for our all day outing.

I love adding fun, bright earrings and a watch (and/or bracelets) just to beef up the otherwise plain outfit.

At the museum, I realized I never took a shot of one of my favorite crossbody bags.

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone! I wore my first cut out shoulder top today and I loved it! This one is falls really nicely and is so comfortable. I love pairing roomy tops with more form fitting skirts. I'm loving this lace one. I paired it with gold jewelry, a long statement necklace, and my favorite, not too high wedges. I was good to go all day. From church, brunch,  the egg hunt, and everything in between.=)

Friday Favorites

Today, I'm linking up with Momfessionals, A Little Bit of Everything, and Grace and Love and sharing my Friday Favorites.

1. Going through the kids closets and finding all her summer dresses! Avery lives in dresses in the summer, and I think she's good to go in that department.=)

2. Seeing this photo on Instagram of a hat I made a long time ago (taken by Images by Lori), and crocheting again in general. I opened my shop on etsy back up recently, and I'm loving the calming effect crocheting has on me in the evenings.

3. My little Noah graduating preschool. I'm so proud of him and love him so much.

3. For fun I made this little collage of some of me wearing some of my Kendra Scott jewelry. Whenever someone asks about my jewelry, 9 times out of 10 it's Kendra Scott. I purchase all of it HERE.

4. I got Avery the movie "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" because I knew she'd love it. However, I wasn't quite expecting the obsession she's developed! She's constantly asking me questions about everyone on the show and this morning she showed me this letter she wrote to "Janie" (Sarah Jessica Parker's character). It's her first letter to a celebrity. Too cute!

This base coat from Revlon, and top coat from Sally Hansen. The base coat is the big reason I can now make it 4-5 days without my polish chipping. Without it I'm lucky if it lasts one day. The top coat dries instantly like the name. Seriously. I also picked up this new color called Hawaiian Orchid which I'm loving.

After seeing this watch in the Nordstrom catalog and it's completely on my radar. I love the rose gold and blue mix. Very unique and beautiful. You can find it HERE.

I really love NARS makeup. I recently discovered their pure matte lipstick and I'm in love. It can be found HERE. Most lipstick either dries out my lips or comes off right away. This kind is perfect. My favorite shade is Montego Bay. It's a beautiful neutral pink. The sticks on the far right are the multiple sticks that I keep in my purse at all times. They can be used on your cheeks, eyes, or lips for an instant pick me up for your face. My favorite shades are "orgasm" and "portofino." They can be found HERE. The far right are the gloss sticks that i love wearing over the matte lipstick. My favorite shade is "new lover" and can be found HERE. They can be found HERE. In the front is my favorite bronzer in "laguna." It can be found HERE.

Teacher Work Day

Today was a teacher work day at school. Meaning no children so I would be sitting at my computer doing report cards the whole time, and eating out for lunch! I took the opportunity to pull out my favorite shorts and wedges since I wouldn't be on my feet the whole day.

I love this new shirt I got. I love the color, and the lace detail is so pretty. I got it at Flaunte Boutique. You can find them on Instagram and Facebook. They post clothes and you just comment to get an invoice sent right to your inbox. My daughter's teacher told me about it.

Shorts are HERE
My wedges are currently out of stock but I got them HERE
My exact purse is out of stock but a very similar option is HERE.

Here's a closer look at the details on the shirt:

I'm loving the shorts and wedges combination for summer!

Mint and Pink for the Egg Hunt

Today my kindergarten class had their Easter egg hunt and this outfit fit the theme on this not too hot, not too cold, perfect Okinawa day.

Dress is from J. Crew (old)

Earrings are HERE. (on sale!)
My bracelet was gifted to me from a student whose neighbor makes them out of beads and Okinawa sea glass. I'll find out her shop name.

I decided to go the messy hair route today since I knew I'd be outside a lot and it'd be going crazy with all the wind!

When I got home I wanted to see what it would look like with this statement necklace. I loved it! My exact necklace isn't available, but there's lots of similar styles HERE. The quality is great, and they're a lot less expensive than others I've seen.

What I Wore Wednesday

Today, I'm linking up with The Pleated Poppy for her What I wore Wednesday.

Today I wore another dress in which I own multiple prints of. It's a great length, the price is right, and it can really work in all seasons. With boots in the winter and sandals when it's warm. I can't get enough of florals right now. Sandals can be found HERE.

I've had this rustic looking necklace for awhile now, but it wasn't until I saw Whitney on the bachelor wearing this necklace:

The gold circles reminded me of mine, so I pulled it out that next day and actually paired it with a plaid shirt like Whitney did. It really would work with lots of tops.

You can find my watch that I wear almost every day HERE.

Up close with my favorite Ray Ban sunglasses and Stella and dot earrings.
