The Carmel Haven: March 2015

The weather was spectacular this weekend, so I took the opportunity to break out some spring clothes.

I own three (yes, three) of THESE maxi dresses. This exact coral one is HERE They're so comfy, and the price is perfect. I also appreciate how they cover up my legs (these babies need some sun before I break out the shorts!). Such a great transitional piece.

The shoes were gifted to me and can be found HERE. They are definitely on the pricey side, but I know I will wear them ALL the time. They are a great neutral, so they go with everything. The black ones are definitely on my wish list.

This was my work outfit for today. I got the dress from J.Crew a couple years ago. The belt really gives it some shape and makes it more flattering in my opinion.

One night, we made homemade pizzas. We make them in a super simple way and my kids LOVE them. I just give each kid a tortilla (we use whole wheat) and then lay out sauce (pizza sauce, pasta sauce, whatever you have), cheese, and any toppings you have on hand. The kids go to town and then I just pop them in the oven at 350 for about 5 minutes. Easy!!

This has been a pretty standard outfit for me this spring. I actually snapped this in the bathroom. I like wearing crossbody bags when I'm out running with the kids (the zoo, museum, etc.) and I want full use of my hands! This stripe shirt is from J.Crew Factory, the military jacket is from Nordstrom, and here are my exact jeans. I love the fit of these!

I was going through the kids closets and realized how many dresses my dear A has! These are just the summer ones! We're super lucky because my mom has made many of them for her.

I own a shop on Etsy called Crochet for the Wee Ones where I make hats for little babies. I was full strong at it back in 2011, and took a break when we moved to Japan 3 years ago. I've decided to open it back up, so here I am trying to update listings, review my patterns, etc.

Here's another picture I snapped in my office at school one morning. I loved this combination of red plaid with a dusty blue scarf. I own the scarf in denim blue and magenta. I love that's it's infinity and you can't mess up the wrapping! The red plaid shirt is from J.Crew. The hoop earrings I have I think are worn more than any earrings I own. I love the size, simplicity, and the fact that they go with everything!

We visited our PX and realized that they took the bookstore out and replaced it with an outdoors store. We were a little sad, but A loved testing out the furniture!

This was taken after I got my hair chopped.=) Avery and I had a little date together. We rode the ferris wheal, got ice cream, got our hair done, ate out for lunch, and went shopping. It was perfect! The leather jacket is an old from Urban Outfitters, the tank is from Nordstrom (on sale!). I also have the cream colored one. Love them! These are my favorite jeans, but they seem to be sold out of the distressed right now.

Chris Young came to Okinawa. This is me and my friend Ashley waiting for him to arrive! The concert was great! I'm wearing one of my plaid shirts (so many cute prints right now!), jeans, and boots. I decide to balance out the look with a touch of glam with the necklace (on sale!). I love pairing it with something unexpected like a t-shirt or a plaid shirt.

I took the kids to see the Cinderella movie. It was so good! There's the military jacket again! Their hard to see, but I'm also wearing my favorite Tom's shoes for Spring.

This is probably my favorite outfit I wore this week. I've never tucked a shirt into a maxi skirt before, but it just felt right with this one because it just looked sloppy untucked for some reason. Here's my shirt, similar skirt and exact scarf. The scarf also come in black and white which I also have!
